To cut through Valentine’s Day noise and shine a light on rising romance scams, ANZ created Love Stinks, a pop-up flower shop in Ponsonby selling roses that looked lovely but smelled… fishy. The unexpected twist made people pause, lean in, and learn how to protect themselves from romance scams.
Built and executed in just weeks, the activation was supported by influencer content, earned media, and expert commentary. It cleverly combined cultural relevance, humour, and an important public service message, capturing headlines, hearts, and noses.
